Sunbelt Kerio Personal Firewall

I've been using Sunbelt Software's Kerio Personal Firewall for almost a month now. My trial period is nearing the end, and I must say I am extremely pleased with this software. Kerio notifies me every time an application tries to access the internet, and allows me to quickly allow or deny the activity. Most of the messages I see related to my Firefox browser, MozillaThunderbird email client, Windows update, Office Update, etc.... and I quickly checked the box on Kerio's message that says " create a rule for this and don't ask me again", followed by clicking the "allow" button. Now these programs that I trust are allowed to auto-update without my seeing a message about it. Kerio firewall is easy to "train" this way, and I like this feature a lot. Occasionally, I see a strange application name trying to communicate via the internet. When I don't know what it is, I Google the application name that Kerio tells me about to see what's going on. I have identified three instances of spyware by doing this, and quickly created a rule that tells Kerio to always deny these particular requests. Kerio also notified me a couple of times about a certain IP address that was trying to talk with my laptop. I had no such IP address on my network, and quickly denied this. As it turns out, I think the kid next door was practacing his hacking skills, and Kerio allowed me to successfully block him for good. Without Kerio, I would have some spyware on my computer, and also may have had an intruder. I feel much safer now that Sunbelt Kerio is running on my laptop, and for this reason I will purchase it.
